We've been absolutely loving broth bowls this fall! They're so easy to make, incredibly flavorful, and just one of those meals that leaves you feeling warm and nourished.
They're especially delicious when you're feeling a little under the weather. Between the warm, savory bone broth, fresh ginger, garlic, and onions! It's super comforting!
INGREDIENTS
GROUND BEEF MIXTURE
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 carrot, finely diced or shredded
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp butter or tallow, if needed
GINGER GARLIC BROTH
- 2 cups beef bone broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¼–½ cup heavy cream or whole milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
FOR SERVING
- Cooked white rice
- Green onion tops
DIRECTIONS
1. BROWN THE GROUND BEEF
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until nicely browned, about 7–10 minutes.
2. ADD YOUR VEGETABLES
Add the diced onion and carrot directly to the ground beef. Cook for 5–7 minutes, until the onions soften and the carrots become tender.
Add the minced garlic and freshly grated ginger, stirring for another 1–2 minutes.
Stir in 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and allow everything to cook together for another minute.
3. MAKE THE CREAMY GINGER GARLIC BROTH
In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and freshly grated ginger. Sauté for about 30–60 seconds, just until fragrant.
Pour in the beef bone broth and Worcestershire sauce.
Bring to a gentle simmer and allow the flavors to come together for about 10 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream or whole milk. Avoid bringing the broth to a vigorous boil once the dairy has been added.
Taste and adjust the salt and pepper as needed.
4. ASSEMBLE YOUR BROTH BOWLS
Spoon your cooked white rice into the bottom of each bowl.
Top generously with the ginger garlic ground beef mixture.
Ladle the warm, creamy bone broth over everything, making sure to get plenty of that delicious garlic and ginger flavor in every bowl.
Top with green onion tops, serve warm and enjoy!
A LITTLE TIP: I personally enjoy using heavy cream for a richer, silkier broth, but whole milk works fine too! You can also adjust the amount of broth depending on how soupy you like your bowls.
