Buy some of Sara's inherited 238-year-old sourdough starter. Perfect for beginners who prefer to start with a mature starter with less hassle. We received this starter from Sara's Mom, who purchased it from a bakery in San Francisco, CA. Sourdough bread and its techniques were brought to San Francisco from French Master Bakers during the Goldrush of 1848. Many of those very same cultures are still being used today. We use only high quality, organic wheat flour to feed our starter.
